    President Abdelmadjid Tebboune visits Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen, China

    The President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, visited Huawei’s Shenzhen headquarters on July 21st for a high-level meeting with Ren Zhengfei, founder and CEO of Huawei. Together, they walked through the exhibition center dedicated to the latest technological trends and the digital economy.

    This visiting was followed by a conversation during which the primary pillars of the bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Huawei were discussed. Given the country’s immense solar energy potential, discussions centered on the emergence of a new energy economy via industrial innovation. The two parties also expressed a shared ambition to act in favor of ICT infrastructure, digital inclusion, and industrial digitalization.

    Mr. Ren and other Huawei representatives briefed President Tebboune on Huawei’s business and contribution in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. Huawei has been rooted in Algeria for 24 years and has been committed to contributing to sustainable development through advanced ICT technologies and professional services. Huawei will continue its contribution within the framework of “New Algeria” that leans on digital transformation to reinvigorate the country’s economy and social development.

    His Excellency the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria expressed his interest in the technologies used by Huawei in the field of cybersecurity and distance learning, attesting that Algeria is adopting the same methods in education, and this is part of the Algerian government's action plan and program. President Tebboune expressed Algeria's interest in the management systems for various network outages and fiber sensor for water and gas pipe checking provided by Huawei, with the aim of integrating them "in new Algerian cities", calling on the leaders of the giant Huawei to build strategic partnerships investment between the two countries.
